The Client:

We are currently working for a Major UK Main Contractor. The group has a turnover of over £800 Million across the UK and over £60 Billion internationally. Over the last 25 years they have built lasting relationships and have a substantial order book with a large pipeline of upcoming projects across the UK.

We are working for the business unit that specialises in a mixture of new build and refurbishment public and private sector projects across London and the south east. It’s an exciting time for the business as they have plans to develop this division over the next 5 years, due to their ongoing successes. This business unit has a current turnover of £80 Million and typically take on projects from £2M to £15M in London and the home counties.

They have built a strong top tier management team with the Divisional Director and Managing Director having strong credentials in the Construction Industry.

Projects:

This business unit works predominantly within the Education, Healthcare, Leisure and Residential sectors. They work on a mixture of design & build and traditional contracts and with typical project sizes ranging from £2m to £20m.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Appropriate CSCS card.
  • SMSTS certificate desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering multiple contracts.
  • Experience and knowledge of Quality Management systems and processes.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate effective resource allocation including supply chain, staff, directly employed operatives etc.
  • Ability to lead large high performing multiple disciplined teams to ensure high standards of safety, excellent service delivery and sound financial outcomes.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office programmes; incl. Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Effective leadership qualities – empowering others.
  • Communication skills.
  • Proven track record within a Contracts Manager position.

The Role:

  • They are looking for a Contracts Manager who will be running 3 – 4 schemes, who will get involved from pre-construction and bid through to completion and who will be in charge of a team including Site Managers and Project Managers. This is a well-balanced team consisting of mature and capable individuals that are looking for people that want to take ownership and responsibility for their work.
  • The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective management and delivery of multiple contracts, ensuring programme requirements are met whilst working in line with company objectives and achieving the client and customer aspirations and expectations. Also, to manage contracts to achieve targets in respect of safety, time, cost, and quality and customer satisfaction.
  • This position is based in South East London, best accessed by the Jubilee Line or Overground.

Package Details:

  • £70,000 – £80,000 Basic Salary.
  • Competitive Package.
